Waiting on New York

A New Musical Comedy

Book by Natasha Ashworth, Pat Via & Lisa Weiner Jerden

Music by Pat Via

Lyrics by Pat Via & Amanda Freedman

Comedy, sisterhood, and big dreams are served on a silver platter (with a side of marinara) in Waiting on New York. Set inside Ovalé, a high-end yet comically dysfunctional Italian restaurant in Manhattan, aspiring actors Ivy and Madison are tested every day waiting on New Yorkers, while also waiting on New York to fulfill their lifelong dreams so they can finally escape the service industry.

Inspired by real events and people, this pop-rock musical sheds a satirical light on the common struggle of feeling trapped in a job you hate, asking: How do you balance a career alongside true passions, or finally build a career you are passionate about?
